Kaos Skatepark, East Kilbride

Wheelscape worked closely with KAOS on the design and build of this massive new indoor facility which is now open to the public and doing well! Kaos is one of the largest indoor concrete skateparks in Europe. It is made up of 4 distinct areas; big bowl with full pipe, pool, fun bowl and street course. There is also a skate shop, viewing platforms, disabled access, party areas and food and toilet facilities. Each area gives a different riding challenge.

Street course - Overlooked by a large viewing area the street course has a several level changes, Hubbas, rails, vert wall ride with window, stair set, manny pad, floating ledge plus a variety of banks and transitions. The layout has been designed to maximise the 800sqm space.

Fun bowl - Spined bowl with 1.2m high transitions with 3 different style hips, roll in, a vert corner pocket, escalating pocket and 2.3m high flat bank extension.

Pool - Modern take on a classic backyard pool design. This has real pool coping with shaped steps in the shallow end, falling towards 2 opposing hips and a 0.9m waterfall into a vert bowled end.

The Big Bowl - The full pipe (4.7m high and 8.5m long) is the biggest in the UK and has unique cut out sections in the ceiling. There is a raised bowled end which leads to a hip then pocket into 3.1m high vertical quarter.
